Your CEU Department of Political Science has had another memorable year. Let me share with you some of the highlights:

Firstly, two new colleagues have joined the department; we were very happy to welcome Daniel Bochsler and Gabor Simonovits among our ranks. Secondly, despite ongoing challenges to the university created by ‘Lex CEU’, your department has made progress on several fronts.

We were thrilled to learn that CEU ranked 41st in Politics and International Studies according to the prestigious 2019 QS World University Rankings.

We also have launched a new section Faculty Spotlight on our website where you can keep up with the most recent publications from our faculty members. Among others, you can read about Levi Littvay’s three new books forthcoming - two on populism and one on methodology - and Andres Moles’s article on egalitarianism from the journal Political Studies.

Lastly, the Department will host ECPR’s Summer School in Methods and Techniques between July 26 – August 9 at CEU for the fourth consecutive year. All the courses will be delivered by excellent instructors including PolSci professors and alumni.

Finally, please join me and your fellow alumni for this year’s Alumni Reunion Weekend, (with events including our special departmental coffeehouse), May 2 to 4, in Budapest. The main event, Alumni Reunion Gala takes place on Saturday, May 4 at Budapest Marriott Hotel.

Thank you and warmest regards,

Zoltan Miklosi
