The Department of Political Science focuses on several areas of political science, with a particular emphasis on comparative politics, political theory and political economy as well as research methods.
In the 2023 Quacquarelli Symonds' (QS) annual survey CEU’s programs has been ranked 26th in the subject of politics and international studies, which at CEU is represented by the Department of Political Science, the Department of International Relations and European Studies, and the Department of Public Policy.
The 2022 edition of the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) prepared by Shanghai Ranking Consultancy ranked our program at 76-100 globally.
