For years, Vienna has been named the most livable city in the world. It scores with its very good medical care and an extremely broad range of cultural and leisure activities. Worth noting is Vienna's high safety record, its modern and seamless public transport system, and environmental factors such as low pollution and lots of green space. Oxford University Press published the new book of Zsolt Enyedi, Professor of CEU Department of Political Science, CEU Doctoral School of Political Science, Public Policy and International Relations and Lead Researcher of CEU Democracy Institute's De-/Re-Democratization Workgroup, co-authored with Fernando Casal Bertoa, entitled Party System Closure - Party Alliances, Government Alternatives, and Democracy in Europe.

The book maps trends in interparty relations in Europe from 1848 until 2019. It investigates how the length of democratic experience, the institutionalization of individual parties, the fragmentation of parliaments, and the support for anti-establishment parties, shape the degree of institutionalization of party systems.
