New Visiting Faculty - Monika Mühlböck

The Department is happy to welcome dr. Monika Mühlböck as visiting professor on board.

Dr. Monika Mühlböck, in the winter semester, will cover topics of great contemporary political relevance. Her course, Democratic representation in the Risk Society, deals with problems of democratic politics in the context of decisions involving high levels of risk, such as COVID-19 or climate change. The course will count towards the Political Economy, Electoral Politics and Comparative Politics specializations.

Dr. Monika Mühlböck studied political science and mathematics at the University of Vienna. She is currently employed at the University of Mannheim. Previously, she held positions at the University of Vienna, the University of Colorado, the University of Salzburg, the Vienna University of Economics and Business, and the Institute for Advanced Studies (IHS). Her research interests include political representation, labour market policy, European integration, and quantitative methods.
