New essay series: Open Questions in the Comparative Study of Democracy and Authoritarianism.

Distinguished by a long title and a short acronym (OQ), this series of short analytic essays raises relevant questions about democracy and authoritarianism that have not been adequately addressed (or answered) by comparative political science.

Coordinated by Matthijs Bogaards (ceu Department of Political Science) and Andreas Schedler (CEU Department of Political Science & Democracy Institute), it is a joint initiative by the DI Research Group De- and Re-Democratization (drd) and the ceu Department of Political Science.

The inaugural essay:

Andreas Schedler, “Again, What Is Populism?”

Managing Editors of the Review, Lucie Hunter and Katarzyna Kryzanowska, as well their predecessor, Michal Matlak.
