Covid-19: CEU Introduces Remote Teaching and Working

March 12, 2020

Central European University will conduct all classes online, and no events will be held at either the CEU Budapest or the Vienna campuses.

That’s the university’s latest action to manage its teaching and learning in light of advice from the Austrian and Hungarian governments. “We’ve been preparing for this possibility for a number of weeks now. Our faculty and staff are working around the clock to minimize the Covid-19 impact on learning, including considering alternative modes of assessment”, said CEU President and Rector Michael Ignatieff. “We are determined not to allow this virus to impact on our students gaining their CEU degree.”

In addition, the university has instructed its students, faculty and staff to cancel all CEU-related international field trips, research trips, and conferences until further notice. The university also strongly advises its community against undertaking unnecessary personal travel.

CEU continues to focus its full attention on minimizing the impact of Covid-19 on its community and on those with whom it interacts.

Members of CEU can find more information on the oneceu intranet site.
