Carsten Schneider Wins 2019 CEU Distinguished Teaching Award

It is with great pleasure that we are announcing the recipients of the 2019 CEU Distinguished Teaching Award and 2019 CEU Award for Outstanding Research.

By the decision of the Selection Committee, Hyaesin Yoon from the Department of  Gender Studies and Carsten Schneider from the Department of Political Science  have been selected as the recipients of the 2019 CEU Distinguished Teaching Award. The award recognizes CEU faculty members for promoting high standards of teaching, linked with the mission and institutional ambitions of CEU.

The winner of the 2019 CEU Award for Outstanding Research is Constantin Iordachi  from the Department of History. This award recognizes outstanding  research output by CEU faculty.  Dr Iordachi receives the prize in recognition, among others, of his monograph Liberalism, Constitutional Nationalism and Minorities: The Making of Romanian Citizenship, 1780-1918 (Brill), which is a definitive account of the history of Romanian citizenship during the "long" 19th century. In addition to this book, Dr Iordachi has contributed to a number of high prestige edited collections on the topic of citizenship as well as in the fields of comparative fascist studies and comparative history in general.

The awards will be conferred at the 2019/20 academic year Opening Ceremony.
