The winner of the 2019 CEU Award for Outstanding Research is Constantin Iordachi from the Department of History. This award recognizes outstanding research output by CEU faculty. Dr Iordachi receives the prize in recognition, among others, of his monograph Liberalism, Constitutional Nationalism and Minorities: The Making of Romanian Citizenship, 1780-1918 (Brill), which is a definitive account of the history of Romanian citizenship during the "long" 19th century. In addition to this book, Dr Iordachi has contributed to a number of high prestige edited collections on the topic of citizenship as well as in the fields of comparative fascist studies and comparative history in general.
The awards will be conferred at the 2019/20 academic year Opening Ceremony.
