Carsten Q. Schneider, associate professor and head of the Department of Political Science at CEU, and CEU alumna and visiting professor at IRES, Kristin Makszin won the Socio-Economic Review Annual Prize for the best article published in the journal in 2014 for their article Forms of Welfare Capitalism and Education-Based Participatory Inequality. Schneider and Makszin’s paper analyzes how institutional conditions shape the impact of differences in education on political participation in capitalist democracies.
