The Department of Political Science at Central European University, Budapest announces a search for Program Coordinator.

The position can be full or part time depending on the selected candidate.

The Program Coordinator is responsible for:

• Administration of the department’s different teaching programs;

• Providing high level administrative support to faculty, students, and departmental guests;

• Coordinating the department's activities;

• Liaison with departmental contacts within and outside of the university;

• Answering general enquiries or redirecting them to the responsible officer or faculty member;

• Preparing and organizing departmental events (seminars, colloquia, social events);

• Maintaining and updating databases and various systems of departmental data;

• Assisting the procurement and financial processes of the department;

• Maintaining the departmental website;

• Handling day-to-day technical problems;

• Compiling reports and evaluations.

The ideal candidate must have:

• At least 2 years previous administrative experience in an educational institution;

• Excellent communication and writing skills in English and Hungarian;

• Excellent organizational and reporting skills;

• High level computer literacy and advanced / expert knowledge of the MS Office suite;

• Strong interest in and ability of working with students in an international environment;

• Ability to work both individually and as part of a team;

• Ability to complete different tasks in a timely manner;

• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and take the initiative;

• Ability to follow instructions and meet deadlines;

• Ability to understand and learn new tasks quickly;

• A precise, proactive and efficient attitude and work ethic;

• Multicultural orientation and open-mindedness.

The ideal candidate should have:

• Structured and flexible way of thinking aimed at problem-solving;

• Mastery of databases and web-search platforms;

• Web design skills;

• Experience with financial and budgeting processes;

• Experience with project administration and coordination;

• Knowledge of SAP.

Compensation:

Commensurate with experience. CEU does offer a competitive salary, as well as a dynamic and international working environment.

The initial contract is for one year with a possibility of renewal.
