In this week's seminar, Gergő Medve-Bálint from CEU and Zsolt Boda from the Centre for Social Sciences of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences will be presenting their paper on institutional trust in East Central Europe. In their paper, which is currently under review for publication, they have focused on how country level wealth and inequality together with individual income have an impact on institutional trust. Their findings suggest that both higher individual level income as well as country level income and equality have a positive association on institutional trust. However, the the individual level associations become more important as the overall wealth of the countries increases.
