On Monday March 17th (09.00 - 12.40 in FT908) we will be having a special workshop, an introduction to latent class analysis (LCA). It is a method for the analysis of multivariate categorical data, a means to identify latent classes on the basis of variables with categorical values. So if you are working with categorical data and suspect that your variables indicate directly unobservable categories, classes, subtypes or however you might want to call them, then this is just the workshop for you. The structure of this very introductory workshop is the following. In the first half of the seminar Tamas Rudas will give us a theoretical overview of the method. Thereafter we will have a small brake and in the second half of the seminar Levi will show how this can be implemented (presumably in Mplus, but please also note that R has several packages that allow to carry out LCA).
