You are cordially invited to the Political Science departmental seminar

"Acknowledging Wrongs That Cannot be Righted: Practical Morality After Collective Crime"

delivered by

Nenad Dimitrijevic, Professor, Department of Political Science

Date: Thursday, November 29, 2012 - 13:30,

Venue: FT908.

Nenad Dimitrijevic presents the main findings of his recent book Duty to Respond, 2011, and also sketches the contours of his new project, a sequel to the previous book.  The 2011 book was focused on the construction and defense of the concept of collective moral responsibility for a particular type of wrongdoing (collective crime).  The current project asks about the nature, scope and dynamics of that responsibility. In the centre of his attention are backward-looking absolute moral duty and acknowledgment.
