El Departamento de Ciencias Políticas de la Central European University convoca a estudiantes de alto rendimiento académico interesados en realizar estudios de maestría y doctorado en ciencias políticas a inscribirse para el ciclo escolar 2010-2011. Este año contamos con 31 becas completas de maestría y 10 de doctorado para estudiantes de excelencia. Contamos con programas de maestría que pueden ser cursados en uno o dos años. Recientemente el Departamento de Ciencias Políticas de CEU ha sido clasificado como uno de los mejores de Europa:

El Departamento cuenta con una veintena de miembros docentes de reconocimiento internacional. Además de la planta fija, al departamento asisten regularmente distinguidos profesores visitantes de instituciones como The European University Institute, Johns Hopkins University, Trinity College Dublin, Duke University, Cornell University, London School of Economic, University of Siena, University of Virginia, Warsaw School of Social Sciences and Humanities, entre otras.

El Departamento es único en Europa con un currículo que abarca casi todas las áreas de estudios en ciencia política. Tenemos una fuerte concentración de cursos en campos como política comparada, economía política, teoría política, estudios de votación, partidos y elecciones, comunicación política, la Unión Europea y política postcomunista.

Trayectoria profesional 

Al finalizar el programa, los estudiantes habrán adquirido una sólida formación en ciencias políticas y economía política, teoría política, y la investigación en ciencias sociales. Una mayoría de Ex-Alumnos del departamento continúan su carrera en la enseñanza superior, la política, el análisis político, los medios de comunicación, el servicio civil, ONGs internacionales y organizaciones de investigación, empresariales, gubernamentales, y otras áreas relacionadas. La Universidad 

CEU es una universidad de postgrado orientada a la investigación. Tiene un cuerpo de estudiantes muy diversos (procedentes de más de 100 países), integrado por futuros líderes de opinión y académicos. Está situada en el corazón de Budapest, una capital europea cosmopolita, con todas sus virtudes históricas y culturales. El idioma de instrucción y de la comunicación es el inglés.


El programa de Maestría:

Maestría en Ciencias Políticas 

El programa ofrece un currículo integral e interdisciplinario, en la teoría y los métodos de investigación de la ciencia política contemporánea. Especializaciones incluyen una variedad de ámbitos como la política y la economía de la democratización en una perspectiva comparativa, la cultura política, el desarrollo internacional, política comparada y europeo, cuestiones de actualidad en la teoría y la práctica de la democracia constitucional, teoría política, la sociología política y política económica. Normas de los EE.UU. en la investigación y la enseñanza están en armonía con las diversas necesidades de un organismo internacional de los estudiantes.

Requisitos de ingreso para los programas de maestría:

Declaración de motivos de 100 palabras que describa por qué quiere aplicar al programa

  • Una exposición corta (aproximadamente 500 palabras) de un tema o problema en ciencia política en la que est é interesado
  • Muestras de escritos anteriores y/o una lista de publicaciones académicas y experiencia de investigación relevantes (según proceda). Tenga en cuenta que estos materiales no se comentan ni serán devueltos por el departamento
  • Los solicitantes también deben tener un 45-minutos de prueba de la capacidad de escribir en condiciones de examen. Los candidatos seleccionados suelen tener un primer grado en ciencias políticas, economía, sociología, historia, filosofía o derecho (otros grados también son considerados).


Doctorado en Ciencia Política

El programa de doctorado se orienta principalmente hacia el mundo académico, la preparación de los estudiantes de postgrado para una carrera en la investigación y/o la enseñanza de nivel universitario. Se hace hincapié en el desarrollo de la investigación de nivel profesional y capacidad de análisis en uno o más de los siguientes ámbitos: política comparada, estudios europeos, relaciones internacionales, economía política, teoría política, políticas públicas y derechos humanos. Los diferentes temas se enseñan y administran junto con los departamentos de Relaciones Internacionales y Estudios Europeos, Política Públicas, Filosofía y de Estudios de Derecho.

Durante los estudios de doctorado en CEU los alumnos son incorporados activamente a las redes de investigación en su campo, mediante la participación en importantes proyectos de investigación en el que académicos de CEU son directores o colaboradores. Existen viáticos para la participación en conferencias académicas y escuelas de verano. También hay oportunidades para participar en talleres de estudiantes de postgrado que el Departamento organiza periódicamente, en colaboración con algunas de las más destacadas universidades europeas y de EE.UU: entre otras LSE, EUI, Pompeu Fabra, Sciences Po, SUM . Los alumnos de doctorado pueden renovar la inscripción hasta un máximo de seis años. Los estudiantes admitidos en los programas de doctorado CEU son elegibles para recibir la Beca de Doctorado de CEU por hasta tres años. Numerosas oportunidades de financiación adicionales existen, como el apoyo a la investigación de Doctorado Programa de Subvenciones, el programa de movilidad Erasmus y varios fondos para viajes de investigación
