Monika Mühlböck holds a PhD in Political Science and a BSc in Mathematics from the University of Vienna. She is currently employed at the University of Mannheim, at the Chair of Political Science and Comparative Government, leading a project on the role of risk preferences in representative democracy. Previously, she held positions at the University of Vienna, the University of Salzburg, the Vienna University of Economics and Business, and the Institute for Advanced Studies (IHS). She has been a Visiting Researcher at the University of Turku and a European Union Center of Excellence Fellow at the University of Colorado, Boulder. Her broad research interests include political representation, labour market policy, European integration, and quantitative methods. Her work has been published in Political Behavior, Journal of European Public Policy, Social Science Computer Review, Oxford Research Encyclopedia of Politics, European Union Politics, and West European Politics, among others.
